About the artist
I am an Australian artist currently living and working in South Australia.
My artworks are inspired and informed by the experiences of life, by the intricacies and complexities of the natural world and our place in the universe, and by the mysteries and intensities of our existence. The works range from depictions of fleeting moments and tiny details, to sweeping panoramic vistas, meticulously researched studies, and intriguing conceptual pieces. Information and symbolism, often relating to the roles played by humans, in life and as part of nature, is layered into many of my works, and the multifaceted and delicate inter-relationships that exist within the ecology of our world are frequently highlighted.
I have always expressed myself and communicated through art, and my works are an extension of my thoughts and perceptions. Insights gained through both studying and working in various fields of science and the arts have added particular elements and character to my art. I am motivated and enthralled by awe-inspiring encounters, by creativity and genius, and by the spirit of courage, kindness, and wisdom. Drawing, watercolour and oil painting, textile art, natural fibre cordage, lino printing, and computer graphics are among my chosen media.
